I graduated from East Peoria Community High School in East Peoria, Il in 1992. In high school I played football,
basketball, and ran track. I played legion baseball in the
summer. I went on to play basketball at Hannibal-LaGrange
College in Hannibal, Mo and graduated in 1997 with a BSE in
Secondary Social Studies. I began teaching and coaching at
Palmyra R-1 High School in Palmyra, Mo. I coached football,
basketball, and baseball. Our football team reached the
quarterfinals in 1997, losing to the eventual state champion.
We were fortunate to win the 1998 Boys Class 2A state
Championship in basketball. I was an assistant coach at Palmyra
and left after 2 years to become a head coach at North Shelby
C-1 High School in Shelbyville, Mo. During my 7 years at North
Shelby, I was fortunate enough to coach in 2 Class 1A state
championship games for boy's basketball, runner-up in 2003 and
winning the title in 2005. My girl's basketball team reached
the quarterfinals in 2001. I was an assistant baseball coach and
we were the runner-up in 2000. Our football team won the
conference title in 1999 (we were a 1A school playing in a
conference with 2A and 3A schools).
I have lived in Lexington since July of 2006. I left Missouri
to spend time with my nephew, Michael, and my two nieces,
